I wanted to get a cd player boombox that had a cd player/radio and the ability to play my Ipod. This had all three. The aux in works great, just make sure your volume is all the way up on your mp3 player. The sound isn't that great, but we only use it to listen to music in the kitchen. Overall it works great. It is nice to be able to have all our music be able to play on one thing.
